Nigerians have been in Dilenma as to what and Why the "Pastor" was chosen.

It's so easy for a church to derail by meddling with politics. The Church is made up of different members with different political affiliations, how do you handle? How do you lean? The work of the Church is to take many souls as possible to Heaven, salt the earth and light the world for Christ, under the government of Jesus, as led and powered by the Holy Spirit. End!

Can a true Christian seek political office? Well yes, IF the ultimate motive is to improve lives and influence the world for Christ (which is all that would matter for all on judgement day, not your personal achievements and successes). Should the Church as a body try to get Him there? No. The concern of the Church is souls. Win them and prepare them to go light up the world.

Should a pastor consecrated to God get involved? I don't think so. If you're my pastor and we're on opposing teams, can I still see you, words and actions as unbiased? A pastor is a shepherd for Christ, charged to change the world through the Word of God and not through political reform. (and if you think of it, we all should actually be priests and kings unto our God). Christ, the apostles, prophets and the entire Bible never sought to change the world through political reform.

The bride of Christ should behave like its Husband. He could have easily dethroned Herod and all kings from their worldly seats, if that was His purpose or means of changing the world while He was here. Rather He chose to establish God's Kingdom here on earth with His very Life and Words. The church should leave politics in the purely secular domain where it belongs ...I wish"
